ObasekiChange
Thomas A. Obaseki is co-founder and CEO of ObasekiChange.
As CEO, Thomas provides thought leadership, strategic planning, and a global perspective that is laser-focused on moving the needle of diversity and inclusion in today’s corporate organizations.
Born in West Africa, Thomas graduated from the prestigious Edo College in Benin, Nigeria. He then followed a lifelong dream and moved to the United States to attend Wake Forest University, where he received his undergraduate degree. He received his graduate degree from the University of North Texas. After becoming a naturalized American citizen, Thomas and his wife, Gail established their home base in the North Texas/DFW Metroplex area.
Thomas brings over 35 years of leadership experience across multiple industries, geographies and scale of business. Prior to founding ObasekiChange, he held coveted top salesman positions for Southwestern Publishing Company and International Paper and management positions with the FedEx Corporation. Simultaneously, after training with various attorneys in dispute mediation, one of his life’s passions, Thomas joined Dispute Mediation Services, Inc.
Twenty years ago, Thomas entered the field of education in the Dallas Independent School District, teaching in its inner-city schools. While teaching Physics, he has placed an added emphasis on helping at-risk teens maneuver the maze of poverty and violence through education.
Working across continents, Thomas is the one of the leaders of Nigerians in the Diaspora, heading up successful grassroot fundraising and political action committees during critical Nigerian election campaigns.
Thomas and Gail make frequent visits to their home in Africa, as well as journeying extensively to Europe, where their siblings reside. The advantage of a tri-continental presence, combined with his mediation and education background, allows Thomas to bring a unique perspective on this nation’s diversity challenges.
